Common questions about big-item delivery

Short answers to what people most often ask before and after a two-person delivery.

Who do I contact if my delivery is late?

The retailer you bought from. They hired the carrier and are responsible for the delivery under UK consumer law. The carrier may be able to give updates, but the retailer can rebook, escalate or refund.

Can I track my sofa like a parcel?

Often only partly. Bulky-goods networks usually show when the item reaches the regional depot and when a slot is booked, not every movement. This site does not offer tracking; use the link in your retailer's or carrier's messages.

How long is a delivery window?

It varies. Some carriers give a two-hour window a few days before; others give a full day and narrow it the evening before or on the morning itself.

Will the crew take it upstairs?

Only if your order includes room-of-choice delivery and the route is safe. Threshold and kerbside deliveries stop at the door or the property boundary.

What if the item does not fit through the door?

The crew will not usually remove doors or windows. The item may go back to the depot, and the retailer will explain your options. Measuring before you order avoids most of these cases.

Can someone else accept the delivery for me?

Usually yes, as long as they are an adult and you have told the retailer or carrier. Once someone you nominated receives the goods, responsibility passes to you.

Should I sign if I have not checked the item?

Look it over if you can. If there is no time, record that on the delivery note. Your statutory rights still apply if the item turns out to be damaged or faulty.

Is this the website of DX or another carrier?

No. Dxdeliveries is an independent guide. It does not deliver goods, cannot see orders and is not affiliated with any carrier or retailer.
